XIII LIKHACHOV INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE AS SIGNIFICANT SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROJECT

The paper provides an overview of the proceedings of the 13th International Likhachov Scientific Conference held on May, 16-17 2013 at St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Conference dealt with the processes of transformation in all fields of culture and various aspects of globalization of modern society. In particular the Conference focused on the most urgent and universal topics for discussion related to the contradictory tendencies in the development of human society, the processes of globalization, the role of humanitarian culture and education in the world, the problems of interfaith dialogue, tolerance and morality. A special discussion was organized about the issues related to the problems of values and meanings of contemporary culture, spiritual and moral guidelines for modern society and younger generation.
