FUNCTION OF ECOLOGICAL DESIGN

The article is a continuation of the previously published material about the formation and development of ecological design as one of modern design and art direction. Ecological design is at the junction of utilitarian, technical and artistic activities, so its function is also combine the functions of art and engineering. Other authors have previously identified the functions of design. The article on this basis identified and described the function of ecological design: creative, information, axiological, communicative, educational, socio-economic, preserving nature, attractive, valeological, adaptive, forecast. Environmental design offers conceptual solutions for the present and the future. Eco-design means possible to influence the socio-cultural processes, to educate consumers in accordance with the principles of ecocentric attitude towards nature.
