The article studies the phenomenon of transgression, explicated by the cultural paradigm of the 20th century and interpreted as an intersection of the concept’s boundaries, going beyond it and acquiring the new attribute filling, destructing previously recorded and usually tabooed meanings. The paper presents an analysis of two films belonging to this type, viewing controversial and complex mother archetype as a constant of myth-making, both in terms of comprehension and realization. Understanding the common problem field of the mother archetype and its transformation and interpretation of the data in the films due to different types of thinking - an ancient and archaic individual author. Stated movies differentiated primarily refraction of the mother archetype, which Kieslowski served in the traditional interpretation of the sacredness, holiness, motherhood, Trier is interpreted in a completely new way.
