TO THE QUESTION OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT

At present, many problems have accumulated in local government. Attempts are being made to solve the problems. The article provides a brief analysis of the provisions of the Federal law of the Russian Federation of June 23, 2014 year no. 165-FZ «on amendments to the Federal law on general principles of organization of local self-government in the Russian Federation and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation», which was expected to address major problems of local self-government. By applying the comparative method study draws conclusions about the effectiveness of the changes in the basic legislation on local self-government. Main problems of local self-government remained unresolved.
