FEATURES AND PROBLEMS OF PUBLIC REGULATION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN UKRAINE

The article covers essence and importance of public regulation of intellectual property in Ukraine. The author has studied main functions of such Ukrainian public authorities engaged in intellectual property as the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine, the Ukrainian institute of industrial property, the State Department of intellectual property, the State Company ‘Intelzashchyta’, the Institute of intellectual property and law, the Ukrainian institute of industrial property, the Ukrainian agency of copyright and relevant rights, the Ukrainian association of patent councils, and the Union of inventors and innovators of Ukraine. The author has also defined the forms and means used by the abovementioned authorities to protect intellectual rights. The article proves that there are certain problems that reduce the effectiveness of public regulation of intellectual property.
