This article analyzes the role of information technologies in modern political process, in which the former «classical» methods of conquest and legitimizing power inevitably give way to a dynamically growing information technology, thereby exacerbating the immanent to the modern world global crisis of democracy. This article describes the new forms and types of communication technologies that are used in everyday political practice. Internet technologies, as well as the process of globalization today plays a leading role. The author gives a comparison between the «technology» of nonviolent seizure of power and phenomenon of political extremism. It is concluded that the technology «nonviolent» seizure of power is an instrument of political extremists. In the article on examples of many countries reveals tactics use of aggressive seizure of power, or «soft» non-violent technologies, that resulted in «color revolutions» and the change of power in these countries.
