The subject of discussion in this article is literary and cinematic dimension, as defined by the interaction between the art of the word and cinema, forming a dialog space for creative perception of modernity through the prism of the work of art. Screen adaptation serves as a result of such interaction, which finds an expression for moral and ethical semantic core of the adapted work of art in the most appropriate historically and culturally conditioned form of preservation and transmission of information within the screen culture. Each historical era is to be characterized by its own way of perception of reality. This way of perception is compiled in all realms of culture and mediated in art: through the shaping of the art horizon of the author and through the setting of general principles of the artistic mastering of the real world.
