The article explores the reasons of increasing popularity of branding territories technologies, the meaning of the notion “branding places” in the context of the foreign scientific paradigm. Branding territories is presented as one of the means to develop the concept of competitive identity and to solve social emigrational problems. Major tendencies of Krasnoyarsk territory branding are analyzed. It is proved that the technologies of art branding have advantages showing them to be the most effective. They help to identify the region as an area of creative development, making it more appealing for the younger generation of its inhabitants and leading to the decrease of the potential emigrational activity in the Krasnoyarsk territory. In search of solution to the problem of loss of its appeal in the territory of its own population the use of technology art branding will be effective only when the development of the creative environment of contemporary art is fueled not only ready material, but new artistic projects.
