THE ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION LIFESTYLE IN NORTH IN PAINTINGS OF ROCKWELL KENT

Krasnoyarsk School of Art History and Cultural applies theoretical and methodological approach to the understanding and interpretation of works of art as a model of world view, which offers artist. This article analyzes the relationship model to the Cosmos peculiar paintings and drawings by Rockwell Kent. Attention to the creation of American artist dictated by the necessity of studying the topic multifaceted lifestyle of human beings in the north, which is reflected in many of the author, namely, a series of works created during his travels in Alaska (1918-1919) and in Greenland (1929, 1932-1933, 1935). Besides the analysis of northern landscapes in the artist that exhibit a philosophical understanding of the severe nature of this region, the paper will explore the artistic image of the indigenous inhabitants of Greenland - the Eskimos.
