RUSSIAN COSTUMES IN HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT

The study of Russian art of costume in the historical and cultural context. Determined that in different historical periods influenced by political developments costume change. It is proved that, despite external influences, the suit has the characteristic features of Russian costume complex, established prior to the adoption of Christianity. It is concluded that the symbolic function of costume magic, ritual, social, age, professional, well-defined aesthetic carry symbolic meaning and survived until the XX century. Consideration of the suit in a multivariate its operation in culture, in his constant involvement in the dynamics of cultural and historical development suggests the suit as a kind of universal culture. Costume expresses individuality and ethnos modified together with man and by human society.
