REPERTOIRE AND PARTICULARS OF TPANSLATED FICTION IN THE BOOK CULTURE OF KALMYKS (1937–1965)

Article is devoted to the identification of the repertoire and specifics of translated fiction books in the system of book culture of the Kalmyks. The author considers two periods in the history of Kalmyk literature of the twentieth century: 1937-1941’s.–the period of strengthening relationships literatures of the peoples of the USSR, and 1957–1965’s. – the period of prosperity and creative upsurge in the cultural life of Kalmykia after the restoration of the autonomy Republic. Material for the study of the problem were the art texts published by the separate books. Author operated on information from the National Archives of the Republic of Kalmykia and library catalogs of Kalmyk Institute for Humanities of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Library of the Republic of Kalmykia. As a result of quantitative and qualitative analysis of translated literature revealed the characteristic features in design of the translation books, the role and importance of the pre-revolutionary and Soviet literature in the development of national literature of the Kalmyks.
