CONDUCTOR’S GESTURE AS ART MEANS OF EXPRESSION

The article presents the results of the research which purpose consisted in justification of conductor’s gesture as art means of expression of musical art. During research the comparative analysis of conductor’s manual movements and means of expressiveness of the composer, the performer, musical sounding was carried out. It was established that as well as the composer, the conductor by means of manual gesticulation «models» a form of a piece of music; as the performer – he initiates and controls sounding, intones the musical text; as the interpreter – he creates the conditional manual model of music, having emotional content and impact on performers and listeners. All this indicates a community of conductor’s gesticulation with art means of expression of musical art. In this regard the main task of research consisted in the proof of art opportunities of the conductor’s gesture allowing the conductor not only to transfer information about the maintenance of music, but also to direct creative process as a whole. Research led to a conclusion that in conductor’s gesticulation the main signs of other means of expressiveness refract, it allows to consider it as the integrated art means of expression.
