STUDY OF THE MONUMENTS OF ANCIENT RUSSIAN ART AS A SOURCE OF PRESERVATION RUSSIAN NATIONAL TRADITIONS (TREATISE OF IVAN MIKHAILOVICH SNEGIRYOV «ANCIENT MONUMENTS OF MOSCOW» (1842-45))

This article addresses the issue of preserving and strengthening the national religious identity in Russia XIX century with the systematic study and preservation of the monuments of ancient Russian art, which was made possible through close collaboration of church, state and science. Considered treatise of Ivan Mikhailovich Snegiryov “Monuments of Ancient Moscow” (1842-45) as a possible mechanism for the preservation and strengthening of Russian national tradition. This is made possible by studying the monuments of ancient Russian art as a representative of the national religious world with a view to the promotion and preservation. This work is the result of the state order, associated with the need to search for uniting society, the church and the king of ancient Russian traditions. Age-old Russian tradition, according to I. M. Snegiryov, not washed away in foreign but accumulate and make a bright visible qualities of identity and nationality, opening in concrete monuments of architecture.
