THE INFLUENCE OF CHURCH TRADITIONS OF PROTESTANTISM ON I.S.BACH’S CANTATAS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE CANTATA № 7 «CHRIST UNSER HERR ZUM JORDAN KAM»)

The article is devoted to the influence which M. Luther’s doctrine has had on I.S.Bach’s creative activity. The founder of Lutheranism abolished medieval distinction between clerical and secular estates, proclaimed a ministration «in the world» by means of the Word of the Gospel that is the central field of activity of the true Lutheran. The church festive cantata was means of training of the believer for perception and acceptance of the Gospel for Bach. Cantata outgrew function of a mediator and reached the central position in church service. The cantata uses methods peculiar for the sermon to make believers understand a content of the Gospel. The principal statutes of Lutheran dogma were embodied in Bach’s church cantatas, the meaning and forms of the church rite had influence on the contents and structure of a piece of music and led to complex interaction of church and secular music.
