This article analyzes the specifics of contemporary television as the area of creativity, expanding the expressive possibilities of television in connection with its technical and technological growth. In article the review of the theoretical concepts about the specifics of Television Arts is given. Include relevant lesser known problems in the theory of Television Arts, such as: a form of television work of art, terminology database, specifics of separate professions and specialties. The analysis of the impact of technological progress, media and viewer’s new perception of the contemporary television work of art on the specifics of an audiovisual work. A comparative analysis of the terms «audiovisual work», «hybrid product», «digital image».
