THE SYSTEM OF GENRES: GENESIS, INTERACTION, APPROACHES TO CLASSIFICATION

This article examines the nature of such concepts as cinematic genre, traces the history of the origin and formation of the major genres of film, complication of the genre system, the basic tendencies. In the development of Screen Arts in the XX-XXI centuries there were two processes occurred at the same time - the formation of a genres system and blurring genre boundaries with borrowing of methods and expression means, plots and characters. In the XXI century, the problem of genre classification of screen art is relevant as ever in mind of variety of genres, their complex relationship, and common differentiation system absence. The article also examines different approaches to genre classification proposed in their time by famous Art and Film critics in connection with solving theoretical problems arising at different stages of development of Film art.
