TRADITIN UDMURT DESIGN CULTURE TO POSITION OF MODERN DESIGN

The article describes the semantic image of the «World Tree» (world axis), which is one of the main leitmotifs of Udmurt national culture. One of the tangible media image performed traditional Udmurt distaff «kubo», in the form and ornamentation which a distinctly feminine relationship, the idea of creation, fertility, cycling of vital processes, binary image. Author conducted an Art study of traditional Udmurt distaff «kubo» on which identified the main principles of ornamental motifs and their location. The article explains the position that the design of modern objects related to the environment (for example, a floor lamp and other vertical structural elements) deep ethnic Udmurt ornamental motif «world tree» should be a required element.
