POSTDRAMATIC THEATRE: ON THE INTERSECTION OF SEMANTIC AREAS

The paper is devoted to definition of the problems connected with postdramatic vector of development, which appeared in Russian theatre in early XXI century, and is viewed as a global tendency to a breach between scenic action (performance) and dramatic text. Taking into account the postdramatic paradigm of German theatre researcher H.-T. Lemannthe paper, firstly, looks at the phenomenon of Russian director theatre on the intersection of semantic areas of West and Orient; secondly, focuses attention on the problem of overlapping of semantic areas of drama and theatre itself, which is one of the reasons why Russian studies of theatre considerably lag behind West European ones; thirdly, points to transgressive code of postdramatic theatre as an imbalance between form and content. The author of the paper directly connects Russian model of postdramatic theatre with researching transsemantic constructions caused by conflict between playwright’s and director’s semanticareas.
