HIRUDOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF COWS SUBCLINICAL MASTITIS

Article «Leech therapy in the treatment of subclinical mastitis in cows» is information about an experimental study of the use of leeches for medical treatment of subclinical mastitis in cows. Efficacy study conducted girudoterapii mastitis based Uchkhoz GAC North Transurals in the period 2011 to 2013. In the experiment uchuvstvovat 450 head of dairy cows, a survey which standard methods for mastitis cows showed that mastitis found in 15,3% of the examined cows, and in 4,7 % of the examined animals revealed serous mastitis, and in 10.7 % of the animals subclinical mastitis. Scheme girudoterapii for treatment of mastitis consisting of spiking 3 leeches on diseased skin of the udder quarter, for 25–30 minutes of exposure , for 3 days, with an interval of 24 hours. The efficiency of applying girudoterapii for treatment of subclinical mastitis in cows was increased to 100 %. Hirudotherapy costs 40 % less than using the standard treatment.
