Article is devoted to the specifics and trends in the management of political and communicative processes in government in the Russian Federation. It is noted that as a result of changes associated with the democratization of political life, the emergence of new political actors and the implementation of information technology, the transition from policy administration to the principles of modern political management, which is an important part of communication management. The focus of a scientific article on the analysis of trends and specific political governance in the Russian Federation, made on the basis of original scientific research, the results of which were obtained on the basis of expert interviews with the representatives of business, media, non-profit organizations and government officials in the period of transformation of power in 2007 and up to 2012. Feature of the political management of communication processes in the Russian Federation are personified creation of power structures in the interaction with the public, a selection of traditional communication channels. The main trend in the development of political and communicative space at the regional level is to increase the number of actors in public policy, the use of a form of political protest, the willingness of civil society in policy-making. On the other hand, the government, demonstrating partnership methods «soft»-management strives for absolute control in the management of political and communication processes.
