HERMENEUTIC POSSIBILITIES OF ANIMATION IN THE STUDY OF CULTURE

The subject of the research in the article is the possibilities of animation art viewed as an instrument of hermeneutic culture research. The next items are analyzed as having hermeneutic potential: 1. animation’s specific creative and rational practice of animation that is adding the quality of living action to any objects of the surrounding or imaginary world; also constructing a certain world view, in which the animated action takes its place. 2. The subject-specific pictorial of animation: a possibility to depict some non-existing in reality imaginary objects and spaces by means of allegorical and symbolic language. Concerning culture studies, the presence of hermeneutic potential in animation implies the expansion of the non-discursive research possibilities and visualization of culture phenomena senses. The scientific nature criteria of such interpretations are revealed, the methodology of research animation project (including the representation stage drawing the spectator into the dialogue with culture) is formulated.
