The article discusses the development of visual anthropology as a separate field of humanities designated main lines of its development in the context of studying visual systems of indigenous peoples, ie such ethno-cultural group, whose development is not indicated in the finished quality, and continues the process of interaction with the multicultural community. It is proved that visual anthropology has great potential for the study of indigenous peoples, including indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia. Proposes principles and approaches visual anthropological studies of Indigenous Peoples of the Krasnoyarsk Region. Visual anthropology is seen as a conceptual framework for modern museum practice.
