В статье рассматривается фонографическое наследие выдающегося русского пианиста В. В. Софроницкого. Несмотря на то что сам пианист скептически относился к своим записям, называя их «трупами», художественная и научная ценность его дискографии очень высока. Нами впервые предпринята попытка комплексного изучения аудиозаписей артиста: в творческом и педагогических направлениях. Помимо общих данных о производителях компакт-дисков, важнейшим аспектом становятся классификация и периодизация. Кроме того, затрагивается проблема изменения качества звука, связанная с оцифровкой, реставрацией пластинок и магнитных лент, а также современными отечественными разработками в этой области, прежде всего, А.М. Лехницкого.

The article is devoted to the phonografic’s heritage of outstanding Russian pianist V.V. Sofronitsky. Despite the fact that the pianist was skeptical to his records, calling them «corpses», art and scientific value of his discography is very high. We first attempt to explore the complex of artist’s audio recordings: in creative and educational areas. Besides general information about the CD manufacturers, becomes the most important aspect classification and periodization. Moreover here concerns the problem of changing the sound quality associated with the digitization, restoration of records and tapes, as well as modern russian developments in this area, first of all A. M. Lekhnitskiy.
