Проведен анализ организации искусственного освещения городских территорий в историческом ракурсе. Впервые предложена поэтапная классификация и выделены пять этапов его развития: период зарождения (древние времена – 450 г. н.э.), становления (V–XVIII вв.), развития (XIХ в.), консервации (начало XХ в. – середина ХХ в.) и современный период (середина ХХ в. – начало ХХI в.). Исследована роль искусственного освещения в формировании архитектурных пространств, обладающих обусловленным соотношением функциональных и эстетических качеств на разных этапах эволюции. Учитывались следующие характеристики этапов: модернизация средств освещения, новые функции, изменение архитектурно-светового облика города. Раскрыта актуальная потребность в профессиональном решении вопросов организации визуально полноценной вечерней среды в аспекте целостности многофункциональной структуры города.

The analysis of the organization of artificial lighting of urban areas in the historical perspective. First proposed phased classification and identified five stages of its development: the period of origin (ancient times – 450 AD), the formation of (V–XVIII centuries.) Development (XIX c.), Conservation (in the beginning of XX. – Mid the twentieth century) and the modern period (mid-twentieth century – beginning of XXI century). The role of artificial light in the formation of architectural spaces that have caused the ratio of functional and aesthetic qualities at different stages of evolution. Into account the following characteristics of the stages: upgrading lighting, new features, change the architectural appearance of the city-light. Disclosed is an urgent need in the professional organization addressing the full visual environment in the evening aspect of the integrity of the multi-functional structure of the city.
